Debbie's Little Athletes

On July 2nd, 2016, our lives changed forever when the unexpected happened. Our mom, a huge supporter of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, suddenly passed away. She had unknowingly suffered from atherosclerosis, a hereditary disease that had been passed onto her. Debbie’s easy-going nature allowed her to live a carefree life not burdened with worrying about the severity of her own heart issues until it was too late.

Debbie was someone that regardless of where you came from or who you were, she always welcomed you with her open arms, a laugh and a beautiful smile. No matter what you needed, she always gave herself unconditionally to support in any way she could. She did not allow her heart disease to prevent her from living life to the fullest and encouraging everyone to do the same. Debbie was not only our mother but the mother to so many in our community.

We, as family and friends, are committed to raising awareness of heart disease and stroke so that other families may not suffer the tremendous loss like we have. Let us continue to contribute to this cause, in honour of Debbie for all that she has taught us.
