It's 2017 and we're ready to go for the Ride for Heart! After a bit of a hiatus, I'm gearing us up to make this our best one yet. The girls have outgrown the bike trailer so this year we'll be riding the 50km route on the Yuba. Rather that means, I'LL be pedalling the tank of a bike with about 70lbs of super precious cargo.
Lucky that cargo doubles as motivation so we'll be fine :)
Same story as always this year. We've all been touched in some way by someone suffering from heart disease or stroke. If you haven't faced this yet - you will. Some of us have last loved ones, like my Dad who sadly didn't make it long enough to meet his wonderful granddaughters. Others have been lucky and have survived and pushed on.
Besides taking care of yourselves, eating well and exercising, one thing you can do is support the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Their work saves lives through research and education. Medical research to improve treatments and diagnosis, to improve our understanding of these diseases. Education and outreach that helps us all strive to do better for ourselves and those around us.
Please support Amelia, Eleanor and myself (and also our amazing Pit Crew Captain - Dora) by making a donation, big or small.
In order to get VIP status, I'd ask that you make all donations to me until I've crossed the $1000 mark. From there, feel free to make donations in the name of the girls if you like.
Thank you as always for your support! We'll be sure to share pictures and videos after the ride is done.
