Thanks for taking a look at my page.
February is Heart month, and once again, I am canvassing for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. I know that we all have favourite charities which we like to support, but, I would like to tell you why Heart & Stroke means so much to me.
In 2004, my husband, Burt Wray, suffered a couple of heart attacks, which resulted in a quintuple bypass operation. Almost two years ago exactly now, in 2016, our younger son, David Wray, caught a heart virus and was hospitalized for a few days with myopericarditis. This past summer, in 2017, my stepson, Tony Wray, underwent an operation to correct a heart valve abnormality. In 2015, my mother, Cay Jennings, suffered a stroke. All of these people have survived due to the advancements in heart disease care, funded in part by the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
I am so grateful to still have all these family members with me, and, I am sure that you, also, have friends or relatives who have been affected by heart disease.
Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death for Canadian men and women. Every 7 minutes, someone in Canada dies of a heart attack. I want to help change this. It is for that reason, that I canvass for Heart & Stroke every February, and ask you to join me to raise funds for continuing research into heart disease to save other lives.
All of the money I raise will go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, where they’ll use it to develop life-saving treatments that bring hope to heart disease and stroke patients. In the last year alone, the Heart and Stroke Foundation has helped create 165,000 survivors of heart disease and stroke.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation today.
It's only with your help that we can continue to fund this vital research, and return more survivors home to their loved ones.
Thank you so much for your support.
