Thanks for taking a look at my page. I'd like to tell you why I have decided to canvass and what your donation does.
I moved my young family back to Kelowna in 2003 to be closer to my parents and in-laws so that my boys (then 2 & 4) would know their grandparents. However, my world fell apart when I lost my Mother (MaryAnn, brain aneurysm) on March 19, 2004 and Father (Vincent, hemorrhagic stroke) on March 19, 2005. They were 62 and 66 years old respectively and in otherwise excellent health. They died the same day, within minutes of each other, one year apart. Their funeral services were on the same day, one year apart. I felt like I was trapped in the movie Groundhog Day. You will notice I get a little twitchy every year from St. Patrick’s day until March 19th…
Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death for Canadian men and women. I want to help change this. That’s why I’m canvassing to create more survivors.
All of the money I raise will go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, where they’ll use it to develop life-saving treatments that bring hope to heart disease and stroke patients. In the last year alone, the Heart and Stroke Foundation has helped create 165,000 survivors of heart disease and stroke.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation today.
It's only with your help that we can continue to fund this vital research, and return more survivors home to their loved ones.
Thank you so much for your support.
