It's crazy that this is my second year participating in this event and now I'm somehow Team Captain. Wait... how did that happen?! Well, if you know me even a tad bit, you know that my competitive nature comes out when it comes to winning - I mean, fundraising. So, the pressure is on to not only hit my fundraising goal, but to rev up the team and hit the ground running!
In all seriousness though, I'm sure many of us have been affected one way or another by heart disease and stroke. I heard a courageous women speak a couple of months ago about how she suddenly lost her mother because of a heart attack, and I was tempted to think "that's incredibly unfortunate, but I know it won't happen to me." But the truth is that I can't make that assumption nor do I want to wait to be affected directly or indirecty by heart disease or stroke before taking action. This is my way of being proactive and helping the Heart and Stroke foundation by providing funds to continue their research.
So, join me as the Kasian team and I hit the road June 3rd for this amazing event! Any donation big or small is impactful and, more importantly, incredibly appreciated.
