Webster's 13th Year!
January 20-22, 2017 will be our family's 13th year participating in the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation Ski for Heart. We support the event because of it is family-friendly and focuses on education of the benefits of a healthy approach to life. We have had many heart/stroke events in the family so that is also the personal connection. Over the years we’ve seen both the unfortunate side of things but much more of the positive impact of research. Early diagnosis and immediate therapies have been lifesavers in our family. As a result, the event has become our family's fundraising tradition and we ask for your support this year by making a donation.
With this year’s event, we hope to approach the $60,000 mark in funds we've raised over the years for Heart & Stroke research.
Thanks to the work of the Heart and Stroke Foundation and others dedicated to preventing and treating heart disease, our family members dealing with heart conditions have:
- Recovered from a heart attack to ski with grandchildren and join us at Ski for Heart (Alan - father)
- Proper diagnosis of arrhythmia and installation of a pace maker (Poppie - stepfather)
- Prevented heart attack through open heart bypass surgery and put into practice the benefits of a heart-healthy diet (Kent - stepbrother)
Thank you for making a difference.
