Sample Email - Please support my fundraising
Dear [insert name]

I am excited to participate in Heart&Stroke Canvass this year because my fundraising is going to help save lives.

For years we've seen that heart disease can be passed down through generations, but now Heart & Stroke research has shown that family history can double your risk of heart disease and stroke.

This is alarming because everyone I know, and likely everyone you know, can identify a family member or friend with a family history of cardiovascular disease. I don't want to lose these loved ones before their time. Heart & Stroke is funding research so that our genes won’t determine our fate.

I am fundraising to help push this research forward and hope you’ll support my efforts with a donation.

So far, researchers have identified about 20 per cent of the genes known to increase risk of heart disease and stroke. They hope the remaining 80 per cent will be mapped in the next 5-10 years. But this is only possible with continued funding in this area.

Please help me support this and other life-saving research with a donation at my page below!
